Customers should note that sometimes the aging process damages the tongue on a small number of the floorboards. Usually this is easy to cut out and does not have an impect on the installation process. Any damaged floorboard tongues that cannot be used as part of a normal installation should be cut out as part of the wastage allowed for when ordering.
Smoking the oak planks allows a rich dark background colour but customers should be aware that the smoking process brings out and enhances any natural variation in the colour of the boards.
